Daily Crime Report 5/17/2012

Recent police incidents and arrests in Fredericksburg:

ROBBERY:

700 block Lafayette Blvd, 5/16 5:45 pm.  A 53-year-old resident reported that she found an iPhone beside the 7-11 on Lafayette Blvd, and she was able to make contact with the owner of the phone and arrange to turn it over.  The owner of the phone reportedly offered a reward for the return of the property.  The victim later met the phone’s owners, a male and female subject, beside Mr. Dee’s Restaurant and the female gave the victim a small sum of cash for the lost iPhone.   The victim was walking away when the male grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground.  The male suspect took the cash back from the victim and kicked her while she was still on the ground.   The two suspects then left the area in a gold Honda Accord.  The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

900 block Hanover St, 5/15 – 5/16 6:00 am.  A resident reported that the GPS was stolen from his wife’s unsecured vehicle.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1400 block Brent St, 5/15 – 5/16 7:40 am.  A resident reported that a quantity of loose change was stolen from her unsecured vehicle.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

700 block Jackson St, 5/15 – 5/16 6:30 am.  A Maryland resident reported that an iPod charger was stolen from her unsecured vehicle.  The unknown offender also rummaged through the glove box and center console.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VEHICLE TAMPERING:

700 block Cobblestone Blvd, 5/15 – 5/16 6:30 am.  A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unsecured vehicle and rummaged through the contents of the glove box and center console.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

VRE Lot F, 400 Charles St, 5/14 – 5/16 5:25 pm.  A commuter reported that the windshield on his vehicle was damaged, apparently by a hammer or similar instrument.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Knia Briggs, 25, of Spotsylvania was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

Michael Lease, 56, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.

Anthony Hoeffer, 44, of Fredericksburg was arrested for making threats.

Morgan Rower, 23, of Locust Grove was arrested for public intoxication.

Emily Burke, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.
