Suspect Sought in Aggravated Assault

1200 block Kenmore Ave, 3/28 1:50 am.  A 27-year-old female reported that she ran into the ex-boyfriend of a former roommate outside her apartment around 11 p.m. and spoke to him for several minutes before going inside and locking her door.

The victim fell asleep on the couch in her living room and woke up around 1:50 a.m. when she felt something around her neck that was restricting her breathing.  The victim began struggling and fought against the ligature until it broke, at which point her assailant let go and ran out the front door.  The victim recognized her assailant as the acquaintance she had spoken to a few hours earlier.

Officers searched the area extensively and a police K9 ran a track for several blocks away from the victim’s home, but the suspect was not located.  The victim had minor injuries from the assault but did not require transport to the hospital.  Warrants have been obtained against Derrick Holloman, 31, of no fixed address, charging him with malicious wounding and burglary.   Holloman had not been arrested by the time of this report.
