Quick arrest in shooting incident on Sunday
3100 block Village Ln, 9/18 7:50 pm. Police responded for reports of a shooting and found the 49-year-old male victim sitting in the street and bleeding from a bullet wound to his right leg. The victim reported that he had been arguing all day by phone with a friend, Dennis Spindle, over money owed to him when Spindle showed up at his house and demanded that he step outside. A short time later, with the assistance of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police, Spindle’s vehicle was located and stopped on White Oak Road and he was taken into custody without incident. Dennis Spindle, 54, of Fredericksburg was arrested for aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Spindle was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
