Neighbors thwart burglary and help chase suspects

BURGLARY:

3000 block Normandy Ave, 7/19 4:10 pm.  A resident reported that she saw a suspicious male subject entering the home of a neighbor, and she also saw a suspicious female subject in the front yard.  The witness called her neighbor, who was not at home and confirmed that nobody had permission to be inside his house.

The witness’ husband approached the house just as the male suspect exited the back door, and he gave chase to both suspects as they fled on foot down the nearby canal path.  Responding officers located and detained both suspects at the CVS on Jefferson Davis Hwy, and the witnesses later positively identified them as the offenders.

James Wellborn, 26, and Dianna Wellborn, 24, of no fixed address were arrested and each charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony and conspiracy.  Both Wellborns were incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
