Police investigating traffic accident involving pedestrian
At 4:45 this morning, police and emergency rescue personnel responded to Princess Anne St at Lafayette Blvd for a reported traffic accident involving a pedestrian. A female commuter was walking across Princess Anne St in the pedestrian crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle turning left from southbound Lafayette Blvd.
The victim sustained life-threatening head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital.
The accident is currently under investigation and updates will be posted later.
