Police seek information on robbery and assault
1300 block Princess Anne St, 5/7 12:20 am. A Spotsylvania resident reported that he was walking in the area when he was struck in the back of the head by what he believes was a rock. The victim turned around and was tackled to the ground by a male subject, then surrounded by several other males and kicked in the face and head.
The victim lost consciousness and when he woke up, he discovered that over $100 was missing from his wallet and he had blood on his clothing.
At approximately 8:00 am, the victim walked to a nearby business and asked for help. The victim was unable to remember the exact circumstances of the assault or his whereabouts from the night before. He was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital and treated for facial fractures and a head injury.
The assailants were described as three black males and one Hispanic male; one of the black males had short braided hair. The investigation is ongoing.
