Anybody see this guy running through Hurkamp Park on Thursday?

900 block Prince Edward St, 3/31 10:30 am.  An employee for Julian Bly Company parked her truck while she went inside a business to complete a delivery.  When the employee returned to the vehicle, she noticed that the back door was partially open and a male subject was inside the truck.  The employee yelled at the male subject, and he jumped out of the truck and ran across Hurkamp Park away from the scene.  The employee discovered that the safe inside the vehicle had been damaged and opened, but all valuables were still intact.  The suspect was described as a male in his 20’s of unknown race, wearing jeans, a dark-colored coat, and a black knit cap.  The investigation is ongoing.

This suspect almost got away with the contents of the safe, but the driver interrupted him mid-crime after the suspect had cut the locks but before he could steal the money bags.  The driver was so startled to find him inside her truck that she had trouble noticing or remembering details about his appearance.  Hopefully someone noticed his sprint across Hurkamp Park around 10:30 yesterday morning as he was headed in the direction of the ABC store on William Street.  Please call Detective Reyes at 654-5919 if you have any information.
