Man arrested after impersonating a police officer

Blackstone Coffee at Eagle Village, 1113 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 3/17 3:30 am – 5:00 am.  Workmen inside the building reported that a male subject was knocking on the glass of a side door and shining a flashlight inside.  When confronted, the male subject stated to the contractors that he was a police officer and he was investigating crime on campus.  When city officers arrived, the subject had left the immediate area, but the UMW police reviewed their surveillance video and discovered that the suspicious male had entered a stairwell near the rear of the block of businesses.  When officers arrived at that location, the subject exited the stairwell and was taken into custody.  Sameer Ladwa, 37, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing and impersonating a police officer.  Ladwa was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

Prior to this incident, Ladwa was arrested at approximately 4:30 pm on March 16 after he removed a bicycle from the back of a pickup truck that was parked near Eileen’s Bakery at 1115 Caroline St.  An officer located Ladwa in the 1000 block of Caroline St with the stolen bicycle.  Ladwa was arrested for petit larceny and released by the officer on his own recognizance, and the bicycle was returned to its owner.

I wish the FLS would release photos of people like this so that the public could be aware when a CREEPY DIRTY THIEF like this is lurking nearby.

In this particular instance, I don’t have a photograph of the suspect because his booking proceeding was conducted at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Otherwise I would have included it in the blog.

Ok… Thanks, Natatia. I didn’t mean to sound too critical in my post. You’re doing a great job with the City Police Blotter and keep up the good work!
