Shots fired in Idlewild subdivision

1200 block Graham Dr, 1/18 10:00 pm.  Police responded to reports of gunfire, and several witnesses stated that they saw three male subjects outside a residence and one of them appeared to be firing a handgun.  The male subjects then went inside a house on Graham Drive.  When officers arrived on the scene, they set up a perimeter around the house and ordered the occupants to walk outside.  All of the occupants were checked and one of them was found to have a handgun down the front of his pants.  Brock Walters, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm in public, reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a concealed weapon, and underage possession of alcohol.  Walters was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

Simple answer, it is illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits. It is not illegal to discharge a firearm in the county.

    Yep different laws
same country same state .We need to carry a law book with us

  • Fred

But the second amendment gives me the right to fire any gun where ever I want to, whenever I want to, and at whatever I want to.

its against the law to discharge within a certain distance, i think 300 feet, of an occupied dwelling without permission

or in a street. now how drunk/congenitally defective are you when you come outa the house at the cops orders with the gun still stuffed in your pants? try to lock up the mental defect defense?

  • Jeff Spicoli

Wrong as usual Fred. But, there goes the neighborhood.
