Weather update for Tuesday
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow for the Fredericksburg region stretching from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of snow are possible with the highest amounts north and west of Interstate 95 toward the Blue Ridge Mountains, according to the later NWS report.
The heaviest snow is expected in the morning, before tapering off in the afternoon and early evening.
Temperatures overnight were expected to drop into the mid- to upper 20s. Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid- to upper 30s with winds southeast around 5 mph.
The morning commute could be tricky with limited visibility but temperatures should be above freezing by the evening rush.
