James Monroe High School to get new principal
Update: The position for Dr.Gordon’s job as principal of James Monroe High School has been posted on the city schools website. Here’s a link to the posting.
John Russ, the Director of Personnel for the school system, told me in an email: “Once the deadline [April 11] has been reached, an interview panel will review all applications and determine which applicants will be invited to a first-round interview. After the first round of interviews, the committee will then select interviewees that will be invited to come in for a second interview. After second interviews, we will narrow to one candidate and proceed from there.”
James Monroe High School will have a new principal beginning next school year.
In a post on the principal’s blog on the high school’s website, Principal John B. Gordon III announced that beginning July 1, he will serve in a new role in the school system’s Central Office.
Gordon will become the division’s director of operations and the current director of operations, Bob Burch, will be retiring, said Deputy Superintendent Marceline Catlett.
Gordon has been the principal at James Monroe high school for five years.
Plans for who will be the new principal next school year have not been announced yet.
