Fredericksburg could revert to two-installment car tax billing
City Treasurer Brenda Wood is asking to return to two-installment billing for the personal property tax.
She said the one annual bill has created a burden for taxpayers and that hundreds have needed to set up a payment plan, which adds to the burden for her staff.
Fredericksburg’s City Council is scheduled to take up the request at Tuesday’s meeting.
Also on Tuesday, City Manager Bev Cameron will present his budget proposal for fiscal 2015, which begins July 1.
The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St., in downtown Fredericksburg.
