UPDATE: Lane closure canceled for today on Fall Hill Ave near canal bridge

UPDATE: The lane closure scheduled for today has been canceled. I’ll update you when I have its rescheduled date.

In the meantime, check out today’s full story updating the bridge replacement project.

One lane of Fall Hill Avenue near the Rappahannock River Canal bridge will be closed on Wednesday, the city’s Public Works Department announced today.

Below are the details from Assistant Director of Public Works Dave King.

The closure will be limited to the eastbound lane between the canal and the entrance to Forest Village Apartments.   The closure will be in effect between 8 a.m.  and 4 p.m. and will last one day (weather permitting).

The lane closure is necessary to facilitate a work zone related to the Fall Hill Avenue – Rappahannock Canal bridge replacement project.    Motorists should expect minor traffic delays and are advised to use extra caution as flaggers alternate traffic over the westbound lane past the work zone.

While the lane closure is related to the bridge project, it is not associated with the full closure of Fall Hill Avenue, which is scheduled to occur on Feb. 12.

Anyone with questions can contact King at (540) 372-1023 or
