TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN I:

Under general supervision, the incumbent will function in the capacity of traffic signal technician and perform skilled traffic signal/electrical work and other duties with regard to inspection, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting and repair of all aspects of traffic signal systems. Ability to perform basic electrical & lighting work independently, repair/replace hardware components, wiring, and ancillary devices as required. Accurately record work logs, reports, and equipment documentation in written & electronic formats. Respond to emergencies and provide 24 hour response as scheduled on call. Incumbent must perform other duties assigned as business needs dictate. Auxiliary duties include assignments such as working overtime during special events, weather events, and snow removal operations. This employee will work under the general direction of the Traffic Signal Technician II, and Traffic Supervisor. Incumbent must perform full range of duties as assigned with only general instruction and supervision. Must possess the ability to follow written & verbal instruction, read blueprints, effectively utilize electronic test & diagnostic equipment, and communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers. Incumbent must possess skill and ability to complete basic assignments without assistance. Employee must proficiently perform duties associated with proper operation of aerial lifts, and safely working in close proximity to vehicle & pedestrian traffic. Criminal background and driving record checks required. LABORER II – DRAINAGE CREW

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform general semi-skilled laboring tasks. Employees in this classification perform tasks requiring physical strength and stamina. Work involves performing skilled laboring tasks in drainage, which means cleans and repairs catch basins; cleans gutters, culverts and other drainage structures; walks sewer lines; and assists in finishing concrete. Additionally, a Laborer II mows grass with tractor, mower or weed-eater; sands icy or oily streets; shovels snow, rakes leaves; cleans gutters, repairs barricades; and performs routine ground maintenance tasks; completes work order and daily report paperwork; and performs related work as required. Criminal background and driving record check required. LEAD LABORER – ASPHALT CREW

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to serve as lead person of a group of laborers in performing work in maintaining the City’s asphalt streets. Employees in this classification perform lead maintenance work. Position is responsible for patching and maintenance of city streets. The operation of asphalt truck asphalt roller ; keeping accurate records of work performed; performing snow removal duties as assigned; and using excellent customer service skills, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, officials and members of the general public. Performs related work as required. Criminal background and driving record check required.
