City holds public hearing on stadium parking on Tuesday

City Council on Tuesday will hold  a public hearing to consider amending the Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvements Plan to build a parking lot to serve the proposed multipurpose stadium.

The stadium would be home to the minor league Hagerstown Suns and an amateur baseball and softball complex operated by Diamond Nation.

The stadium is being privately financed but the city has been asked to build a parking lot with 1,800 spaces to serve stadium guests. The cost for land and construction is between $7 million and $8 million.

The public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers of City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St.
