Rezoning public hearing on Telegraph Hill set for Oct. 30

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Oct. 30 for the request to rezone portions of the property that makes up the Telegraph Hill Development along Lafayette Boulevard.

Developers hope to build a mixed use planned development there. Its construction could lead to installing a roundabout along Lafayette Boulevard across from Lee Drive.

On Sept. 24, Fredericksburg City Council approved three resolutions regarding the Telegraph Hill development.

Developers plan to build in two phases, beginning with 79 single family homes in phase one. Phase two would be a mixed-use development with no more than 350 multi-family units and no more than 350,000 square feet of commercial, office and retail space.

Telegraph Hill would be located east of Lafayette Boulevard and just south of the Blue Gray Parkway.

The Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall, Council Chambers, 715 Princess Anne St.
