Matt Kelly to replace Fred Howe on VRE Board
Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw appointed Matt Kelly Tuesday night to replace Fred Howe on the Virginia Rail Express Operations Board as the council’s representative.
Howe resigned recently after some controversy with the VRE board and a bill that went to the General Assembly over voting powers.
Kelly is also the council’s representative on other boards dealing with transportation, including the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, the George Washington Regional Commission/Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the George Washington Toll Road Authority.
