Council to vote on joining NoVa Cigarette Tax Board at next meeting
At Tuesday night’s City Council work session, folks from the Northern Virginia Cigarette Tax Board made a presentation to the council about the benefits of joining the tax board.
Here is a recent story explaining why the city wants to join the board.
The council gave a “head nod” that they were OK with city staff moving forward and bringing two things to the council at their next meeting, which is Feb. 26.
- An ordinance to join the Northern Virginia Cigarette Tax Board
- An ordinance with changes to the city code that would bring the city in line with the tax board’s regulations
