Fire causes damage to detached garage in city
No one was injured after a detached garage caught fire at a home off Lafayette Boulevard this morning in Fredericksburg.
The damage, estimated at $15,000, was contained to the garage only.

The fire was on Gibson Street in the Courtland Heights subdivision at 8:10 a.m. It was caused by an electrical connection in the garage, which spread to combustible contents stacked on the floor of the garage, according to a release from the fire marshal’s office.
The fire was determined to be accidental.
A neighbor called the fire department after seeing the fire in the garage.
