Ward 1 School Board seat on Tuesday’s ballot

When stepping into the voting booth tomorrow, along with the presidential race, and congressional races, Fredericksburg voters living in Ward 1 will see another race on the ballot: the Ward 1 School Board seat.

This seat was vacated by School Board Member Pat Green earlier this year, who won an at-large seat in the May election.

Green resigned from the Ward 1 seat after 4½ terms because redistricting placed her home in Ward 2, and she didn’t want to compete for that seat with current board member Barbara Miller–Richards. Instead, Green sought the at-large seat held by Mike Gillenwater, who did not seek a third term on the School Board.

Elizabeth Rehm was appointed to the seat in July, but tomorrow she’ll be on the ballot to officially fill the seat for the remainder of the term.

She is running unopposed.
