Transformer down in Fredericksburg
UPDATE: 5:33 p.m.
Power was restored to all customers by 4:30 p.m., said Daisy Pridgen, a spokeswoman with Dominion Virginia Power.
She said the cause of the outage was a tree limb that fell on a line and the line had to be replaced.
About 700 customers were affected in the area of Lafayette Boulevard, Hanover and Weedon streets.
Some homes and businesses around Lafayette Boulevard may be without power.
A transformer went bad, according to a fire department spokesman ,and they received a call that there was a power line down “arching behind the 800 block of Charlotte Street.”
He said they also got a call that a line was down on the 700 block of Freeman Street, but nothing was found when it was investigated.
There are Dominion Virginia Power trucks in the area working to restore power.
According to an interactive outage map on Dominion’s web site, 723 customers are affected.
