Planning commission to discuss Telegraph Hill, Amelia Square

The Fredericksburg Planning Commission will hold several public hearings Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. Among the items on the agenda:

The University of Mary Washington Foundation will request a special-use permit to put a parking lot near its planned hotel in Eagle Village.

The foundation will also request a special exception to reduce the required amount of landscaped open space from 30 percent to 15 percent.

The city is requesting a zoning change to amend the boundaries of the railroad station overlay district and to reduce the maximum allowed height of buildings.

The commission will review the final plans for Telegraph Hill, a 79-unit single-family-home subdivision off Lafayette Boulevard, as well as plans to divide the Amelia Square plat into 23 individual parcels.
