City Council meeting preview: courts, towing, sidewalk cafes
The City Council will tour the interim Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court facility at Executive Plaza at 5:30 p.m. and that will serve as the first part of the council’s work session.
Then, the council will return to City Hall to have a work session to discuss the courts project. This meeting was originally scheduled for next week, but was rescheduled due to conflicts.
Then, at 7:30 p.m. the council will hold a regular meeting in council chambers of City Hall. This will be the first (not counting the swearing in ceremony) meeting with Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw in charge. It will also be Councilman Matt Kelly’s first meeting back on the council.
Here’s the entire agenda. Below are some highlights:
- The council will consider allowing towers to increase their fees for trespass towing. Here’s the story that ran in Sunday’s paper. Here is a copy of the ordinance and background information.
- A few months ago, Council Member Bea Paolucci asked City Attorney Kathleen Dooley to look into the city’s ordinance on sidewalk cafes. Here is the report that the council will discuss with suggested changes.
- Kevin Capach, an auxiliary officer with the city’s police department, will be honored for 20 years of service.
