Severe thunderstorm watch issued for region
UPDATE: 5:26 p.m. The severe thunderstorm warning has been extended to 6:15 p.m. The storm i s capable of producing hail up to the size of half dollars and destructive winds in excess of 70 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.
Most of the Fredericksburg region is under that watch. This includes: Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Culpeper and Orange.
