Greenlaw, Devine, Kelly to be sworn in Monday


In a ceremony at noon Monday, Mary Katherine Greenlaw will be sworn in as Frederickburg’s next mayor.

Greenlaw defeated City Councilman Fred Howe III and local pastor Matt Paxson in the May 1 election.

City Councilwoman Kerry Devine, who is returning for a


third term and Matt Kelly, who will return to the council after leaving for two years, will also be sworn in Monday.

Judge Gordon Willis, presididing Judge of the Fredericksburg Circuit Court will swear them in.

Rep. Rob Wittman (R-1st) will be give keynote remarks and Ellen Killough, the


president and CEO of the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center will give welcome remarks.

The Vice-Mayor will also be elected Monday and the City Attorney, Clerk of the Council and Deputy Clerk of the Council will also be appointed.

The ceremony will take place at noon in the old City Council chambers (on the third floor) at the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center and is open to the public.
