The Rappahannock Emergency Medical Services Council recently handed out regional awards. Here are the winners:

Excellence in EMS: Mark Garnett. Caroline County Fire and EMS- (Deputy Chief)

Outstanding Pre-hospital Provider: George Langford; Stafford – Brook Volunteer Fire and Safety Association

Outstanding EMS Physician: Jeffrey Joseph, M.D.  Fauquier Hospital ER physician

Outstanding EMS Pre-Hospital Educator: Tim Kimble – Fauquier Fire and EMS (training lieutenant)

 Nurse with Outstanding Contribution to EMS: Eleanor Redmond, R.N.; Mary Washington Hospital

Outstanding Administrator: James Larounis (Fredericksburg)

Outstanding EMS Agency: Fredericksburg Fire Department

Outstanding Contribution to EMS Health and Safety: LifeCare Medical Transports, Inc.(based in Stafford)

Outstanding Contribution to EMS for Children: VAVRS (Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads) District 10;(includes- planning  districts 9 and 16- Fredericksburg area and Culpeper area)

Outstanding EMS Telecommunications Dispatcher: Sheila Walter; Comm Officer with Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Dept.

Regional Scholarship Winner for Outstanding Contribution to EMS by a High School Senior: Kendall Stone. a volunteer with Spotsylvania  Volunteer Rescue Squad
