Bullock to drop out of mayoral race
Local business-owner Ryan Bullock announced Friday afternoon through an email that he will no longer run to be the mayor of Fredericksburg.
Bullock owns The Tree House Lounge, on State Route 3 in Fredericksburg, near the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.
His release is below.
“Residents of Fredericksburg,
I would like to take a moment to express how thankful I am for the incredible support you have shown me in these early stages of my campaign. The current expansion of my business into another state has and will demand much of my time, and the loss of someone very dear to my heart has made me realize that I am not able to dedicate as much of my time to you and the City as you all deserve. I have decided that I will no longer be seeking the Office of Mayor for the City at this point in time. It was an honor to be considered a candidate for City Mayor, and I will continue to have a passion and love for this City like no other. I promise to continue to be an active resident in the community while managing my business in the years to come. I plan to run for City Mayor in the future when I can fully commit my efforts to the residents of Fredericksburg and the City.
I would like to recommend that the May 1st election date remain as it is and to not be delayed for any reason. I’d like to take this moment to publicly endorse Mary Katherine Greenlaw and her campaign. Greenlaw is the only one that also supports the new courthouse complex and also agrees with many of my beliefs and ideologies. I see no reason as a resident of Fredericksburg not to endorse her and everything that she stands for.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and the ever-lasting friendships that I have gained throughout this process.”
