Morning Buzz – Jan. 11, 2011

The City Council holds a work session at 5:30 p.m. today at the Circuit Courthouse. Council members will hear from Judge Gordon Willis about the need to upgrade Fredericksburg’s courts facilities. The council then holds a 7:30 p.m. meeting, where they’ll hold a public hearing on raising parking fines and could vote on the management plan for the land the city owns along the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers.

Shoppers Food & Pharmacy in Central Park will close at the end of February, reports Cathy Jett on her blog. See today’s business section for more on this story.
