Morning Buzz – November 24, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers. This will be the last Morning Buzz of the week. Travel safely.

City employees get a half day today, and City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday. Thursday trash and recycling will be collected on Friday, and Friday service will remain unchanged.

Council members OK’d spending measures last night for an iPad-based paperless agenda system and a survey of residents about city services. The meeting went late, largely because of the volume of comments the council received on a proposed management plan for the river lands it holds under conservation easement. Hunters and trappers asked the council not to limit their access to these lands. Council members took no action on the plan last night.

The city council took no action on something??

    No? Really?!

It is sad when it becomes front page news because the city elected officials actually make a decision, such as painting the toilets green.

I want green toilets in the new courthouse that’s built in 2021. And that management plan on the easement…we’ll see some action on that some time in 2018.

I love the city and its government.
