Powhatan Street to close temporarily on Tuesday

This portion of Powhatan is basically one way to cut the corner of U.S. 1 and College and avoid the traffic light (and there’s a Pizza Hut). It will be closed for part of the day Tuesday, according to public works:

Please be advised that on Tuesday, July 27^th, Powhatan Street will be temporarily closed to all traffic between Route 1 and College Avenue.   The closure will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will last until approximately 5:00 p.m.

The closure is necessary in order to facilitate the tapping of a city water main for a new water line.   No interruption of service to water customers is anticipated during the installation of the new line.
