Kenmore/William will be put back together for Soap Box Derby

This came up in the newsroom this morning as editors were putting the final touches on our Soap Box Derby tab (the event is Saturday), so I figured I’d put it out there.

The sewer work that has closed the intersection of William Street and Kenmore Avenue is ongoing. It was originally scheduled to finish this Thursday. However, as public works officials state in this week’s City Manager’s Update:

“Whether or not the work is completed by that date, the contractor will restore the pavement in the intersection and on the block of Kenmore Avenue between William Street and Brompton Street to ensure that the Soap Box Derby can be held on Saturday, June 12.”

This is similar to the measures taken to make sure that intersection was ready for the Marine Corps Historic Half last month.
