Morning Buzz – May 20, 2010

Gardening? The Tri-County/City Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its annual plant sale, along with garden tours, Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in The Free Lance-Star’s parking lot on William Street. Click here for a list of what’s available.

You can read in tomorrow’s paper about how Fredericksburg police are trying to bring community policing principles to more areas of the city. One new effort underway is Officer Ron Swaney’s assignment as a permanent downtown community police officer. A first step in setting up his beat will be determining what problems have residents and businesses concerned. Folks in that area should expect to see door hangers asking these questions distributed in the next few weeks.
