Kemore Avenue sewer project behind schedule; work continues at Kenmore/Hanover intersection

Here’s the latest update on the Kenmore Avenue sewer project, from the public works department:

Work on the Kenmore Avenue Sanitary Sewer project continues. Both the harsh winter weather and the discovery of unexpected underground conditions have delayed the project. The revised project completion date is the end of May.

Beginning Monday, April 19, extensive work will again be performed in the intersection of Hanover Street and Kenmore Avenue as well as on Lee Avenue and Kenmore Avenue in the immediate vicinity of that intersection. There will be traffic restrictions, including periodic complete closure of the Hanover/Kenmore intersection, during this work. Work in these areas is projected to be completed and normal traffic flows restored by Friday, April 30. Work will also continue on Kenmore Avenue between Hanover Street and William Street during this period.

City staff and the contractor (W.C. Spratt) appreciate the public’s patience to date during this disruptive and difficult project. Every effort is being made to complete the project in accordance with the revised schedule.

Motorists are urged to use special care in the work zone and to look for detour signs and workers in the roadway.
