Todd Nelson: Bonds bring Kalahari ‘one step closer’ to reality

Kalahari President Todd Nelson released the following statement today regarding the state’s decision to allocate $25 million in Recovery Zone Facility Bonds toward the proposed Kalahari Resorts waterpark hotel and convention center in Celebrate Virginia:

We are thrilled with the allocation of a $25 million bond as part of our effort to bring a Kalahari Waterpark Resort property to Fredericksburg, VA.  This is a significant demonstration of the state’s participation in helping develop this project and is a victory considering these tough times to secure financing.

The bond will be an integral part of underwriting of our $250 million project, the largest tourism project to come to VA since 1975. We remain 100% committed to opening a Kalahari Resort in Virginia.  This bond initiative brings us one step closer to realizing that goal.

Check back here later today and pick up tomorrow’s edition of The Free Lance-Star for more information on this development.
