A big construction project at Dixon and Charles streets is nearing an end. As Amy Umble reports today, the Central Virginia Housing Coalition’s 14-unit affordable, accessible apartment complex is nearing completion.  

If you’re getting jealous reading election coverage from Spotsylvania and Stafford counties, don’t forget that there is one contested race in Fredericksburg this fall. Commonwealth’s Attorney LaBravia Jenkins faces challenger Joseph E. Hicks. You can find Jenkins’ campaign Web site here, and Hicks’ site here. Sheriff Paul Higgs, Treasurer Jim Haney and Commissioner of the Revenue Lois Jacobs are all running unopposed for another term in their respective jobs.
