City Manager position offered to Cameron

Mayor Tom Tomzak said last night that the council has offered the city manager’s position to Beverly Cameron. Cameron has served as assistant city manager since 1986. He has been serving as interim city manager since Phil Rodenberg left that office in April.

The offer came after a closed session last night where the council discussed Cameron’s performance. Tomzak said the council is still negotiating the terms of an employment contract with Cameron.

"There was unanimous feeling on the council that he has a great corporate memory, great historical memory of the city," Tomzak said. "He is very cognizant of the fact of the challenges that the city does face. … We are just trying to hammer out the final details."
