McAuliffe and incentives

This time last year, Fredericksburg’s use of government incentives to lure businesses like this one and this one was generating quite a bit of discussion. Today, Virginian Pilot columnist Christina Nuckols writes about how Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe wants the state to step up its incentives game (even as it has trouble coughing up money for basic government services) to bring green jobs to Virginia.

    Somebody needs to explain to me why–when some one prays to the god they believe in, regardless of their station or position, for the benefit of ALL, it is considered offensive and/or unconstitutional? How is the constitutional foundation of the country, or we as a society, threatened by such an act?
