Palin visit scheduled for noon Monday
A release from the McCain campaign states that Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s rally in Fredericksburg’s Hurkamp Park will begin at noon on Monday. I’ve pasted everything from the release below.
The city and the campaign are still working on logistics for this event. This morning in Hurkamp Park, parks and recreation workers were flattening out lumps and dips in the ground. Public works has removed three trees that were said to be dead and some stumps from the park grounds. This work had apparently already been planned for the park. A planned re-seeding of the park will have to be put off until spring (if there’s money) because of the event, I am told.
(UPDATE: Tom Tomzak just called to assure me that the trees were dead, and that their removal had been planned for quite a while, it just happens to coincide with the very recent news that Palin will come to town. Plans are still being formulated for how parking, traffic, etc., will work on Monday.)
