What’s up next week
Things spring back into action on the city front next week. Some highlights:
- On Monday at 6 p.m., the City Council will meet to pare the field of candidates seeking the Ward 1 council seat down to three, who will move on to the group interview later in the week.
- The regular council meeting is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. We will supposedly see a vote on 1200 Prince Edward St. Other items include the the U.S. National Slavery Museum’s request for an extension on provision allowing it to build above the city height limit, the question of whether city cabs should be metered and wrapping up the 2008 city budget.
- On Thursday at 6 p.m. in council chambers, the three remaining Ward 1 candidates will be interviewed. The event is supposed to be conducted in the style of the candidate forums that were held before the May 6 council elections last spring.
