…the average vote in the May 6 City Council election cost $10.21 in campaign expenses.
Candidates had to file their final finance reports yesterday. They show that the five of them spent a total of $80,263 on their campaigns. (More than half of that total is attributable to Tom Tomzak.)
Here’s a breakdown of the cost-per-vote for each candidate. For the rest of the details, pick up Wednesday’s paper.
Tom Tomzak: $24.41
Debby Girvan: $16.05
Mary Katherine Greenlaw: $4.95
B-J Huff: $4.70
Kerry Devine: 92 cents
At-large council votes are apparently a much better bargain than mayoral votes.
