Starting Monday, Fredericksburg will have a DMV Select office operating out of the teller windows in the front of City Hall. That means you’ll be able to go there to do the following:

Motor vehicle titles – original, substitute, replacement, or maintenance

Vehicle registration – originals, renewals, transfers, re-issues and surrender of plates

Special and personalized license plate orders

Handicapped parking placards

Voter registration

Name and address changes – not including issuance of a driver’s license or ID card

Dealer title and registration transactions

Trip permits and overload permits

Let’s hope this means you can avoid waiting 45 minutes in line just to learn you have to go home and get another form of ID. See the city release here.
