Got a great idea for what Fredericksburg should lower into the crowd of First Night revelers to ring in 2008?
First Night coordinator Sonja Wise is inviting residents to share their ideas on whether something should replace the pear as a symbol of the city at the New Year’s gathering. If you’re interested, here are the meetings where they’ll be discussing the pear’s potential successor:
Wednesday, March 7 at 2:30pm –
Thursday, March 8 at 7:00pm – City Council Chambers, in City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St.
Thursday, March 22 at 7:00pm – City Council Chambers
Suggestions so far have included a cherry, a pineapple and a lantern.
