Virginia ranks fourth in education report card

Virginia scored a B in Education Week’s annual Quality Counts report card. The commonwealth ranks fourth in the country, following Maryland, Massachusetts and New York.

Virginia received a perfect score in early childhood education, standards, school accountability, and economy and workforce. The state’s education system received low grades in spending and college readiness.

Via Twitter Patricia I. Wright, Superintendent of Public Instruction, credited the state’s SOL program for Virginia’s success in the rankings.
