Stafford supervisors to stand by high school plans
Stafford County reporter Katie Thisdell reports that supervisors have decided to stand by plans for a rebuild at Stafford High School. Supervisor Paul Milde had called for a referendum on the project. The board voted 4-3 to instead stay the course.
The School Board voted more than a year ago to rebuild the high school, but the public has recently come forward with complaints about those plans.
Milde asked for the referendum, and at a meeting Monday night, Supervisor Bob Thomas asked the School Board to consider a hybrid approach, which would renovate the high school’s CTE wing but rebuild the rest of the school.
The schools’ Facility Planning, Design and Construction Office will host a community information meeting about the rebuild Stafford High School project on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Stafford High School Auditorium.
