Getting ready to rumble
No, you didn’t miss a tremor. But Stafford County students still reacted to an earthquake–a pretend one. It was part of the annual ShakeOut, a preparedness drill that took place at 10:18 a.m. all over the United States and throughout the world. Typically, residents in Western states practice hitting the ground and covering their heads. But this year, Virginia residents are participating in droves–most likely because of last year’s quake in Louisa County.
Here’s a photo of students taking part in the drill during an art class at Winding Creek Elementary School.
