Do you trust your school system?

A new Gallup report shows that most Americans don’t place a lot of trust in public schools. Only 29 percent of respondents said they put “quite a lot” of confidence in public schools. This is a new low in public confidence in schools. Last year, 34 percent put “quite a lot” of trust in the schools.  Some 40 percent of respondents said they trust the schools some, and 30 percent don’t trust schools at all.

And it’s not just schools that people don’t trust–the survey also found record lows in public confidence in organized religion, banks and television news.

And we won’t even mention print news, which people trust even less than they do schools.

So–how do you feel about the local school systems? Do you have confidence in them? And what does it take for you to trust a school system?
