UMW grad hired by Webb

Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) today announced the addition of University of Mary Washington graduate Russell Rivers to his Senate staff as Staff Assistant.

“I am pleased to welcome Russ to my team as a staff member,” said Senator Webb. “I take great pride in hiring Virginians, and I look forward to the contributions that Russ will make serving the needs of the Commonwealth.”

Rivers previously interned in Senator Webb’s Washington, D.C., office in the fall of 2011 and graduated with a degree in international affairs from UMW in December.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to work in Senator Webb’s office,” said Rivers. “I admire his policy of examining issues from all view points and he should serve as an example for other Members of Congress.”

Rivers graduated from Rockbridge County High School in Lexington, Va.
