Stafford schools being inspected
Stafford code officials have found no significant damage to 17 of the county school division’s 29 schools in the wake of yesterday’s earthquake. The Gari Melchers Complex and the Bandy Complex also did not have major problems, based on inspections.
The following schools are being inspected today: Stafford High School, Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School, Widewater Elementary School, Rocky Run Elementary School and Rockhill Elementary School.
The following schools are receiving further evaluations by a consultant engineer: Colonial Forge High School (Forge’s evaluation is complete. The consultant did not find major issues); Moncure Elementary School; Drew Middle School; Stafford Elementary School; Winding Creek Elementary School; Hartwood Elementary School; and Grafton Village Elementary School.
