Father serving in Afghanistan wants to see daughter’s graduation

Bethany Alley’s father wants to watch her graduate from Brooke Point High School on June 18. Problem is, Col. Scott Alley, who has been in the Marine Corps for 23 years, is on a 13-month deployment to Afghanistan, she said.

“This is the largest deployment he’s ever had, and he really wants to see it,” Bethany,18, said.

She’s hoping someone could videotape the ceremony and put it on the Internet live for her father and others to watch. Brooke Point officials are supportive, but they don’t have the resources to provide a live stream of the graduation,  Bethany said.

The ceremony takes place 8 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Brooke Point High School’s football field.

If anyone can help the family, Bethany asks that they email her mother, Michele Alley, at alleycats9@comcast.net.
