Stafford High closed today
Stafford High School is closed today because of a power outage, schools spokeswoman Valerie Cottongim said in an email early this morning.
“A power outage at the school makes it impossible for classes to be held,” Cottongim wrote. “Employees are Code 1 with only essential personnel reporting to the school.”
Stafford High, built in 1975, is the county’s oldest high school. A new Stafford High School, scheduled to be built on land next to existing school, is scheduled to open in 2015, according to the school division’s capital plan.
